Blog Tag Game

I was tagged by my friend Cedar today for this blogger round robin. Here goes....

THE RULES:
1. Grab the nearest book of 123 pages or more.
2. Open it to page 123.
3.Find the first 5 sentences and write them down.
4.Then invite 5 friends to do the same.

I have a somewhat eclectic pile of reading next to my bed, as I have been studying pictoral symbols recently and looking through old illustration books. For the first time in my life I actually bought and I am reading an Oprah's Bookclub selection "A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose" by Eckhart Tolle. I am fascinated with the whole online class concept around this book, so it is the one I chose to quote.

"People unknowlingly sabatage their own work when they withhold help or information from others or try to undermine them lest they become more successful or get more credit than "me."
Cooperation is alien to the ego, except when there is a secondary motive. The ego doesn't know that the more you include others, the more smoothly things flow and the more easily things come to you. When you give little or no help to others or put obstacles in their path, the universe-in the form of people and circumstances-gives little or no help to you because you have cut yourself off from the whole. The ego's unconscious core feeling of "not enough" causes it to react to someone else's success as if that success had taken something away from the "me."

(LOL) OK..since you did say "please" in there somewhere.
First attach hyperlink to body copy, then highlight it. Type the name over the highlighted section. Viola! Technology is your friend!

Ok, you asked for it. This is not what I'm currently reading because I'm not currently reading anything. Currently, I am writing and I never read while I write (don't want any outside influences and don't want to get involved in someone else's story). You said "grab the nearest book" and this one happened to be very close. It's called "Who's Had Who" by Simon Bell, RIchard Curtis and Helen Fielding.

"La Belle Otero was the last of the great public prostitutes, 'les grandes horizontales'. She was an astounding looking woman - 5fppt 10 inches with black hair, white teeth, and 36 inch breasts that looked 'like elongated lemons, firm and upturned at the tips'. She made a tour of the great beds of Europe that was almost comprehensive: there was a time when not having slept with La Belle Otereo was almost a sign of political incompetence and inefficiency. The chances of post-conference talk turning to the charms of Otero were so high, that not having slept with her constituted a failure to do proper research and a wanton disregard for the politeness of after dinner conversation. She started her professional life as a fabulous, wildly erotic dancer, the equivalent of, say, Madonna without the disco backing , but she finally gave it up for the much more profitable prostitution."

And there you have it. The more you know about your world and the people in it, the better you are.

No, I do not live in a porn shop. The book was a gift and it turned out to be (kinda) interesting. I will tag some friends soon. Thanks for the nudge.
